A message from our Kūlia and Ka Lama Education Academy Partner...
If you have a desire to help shape the future of our Native Hawaiian keiki on the Wai‘anae Coast, the Kūlia & Ka Lama Education Academy (KKLEA) program of the Institute for Native Pacific Education and Culture (INPEACE) is here to make it happen!
KKLEA empowers individuals to become and remain as teachers in their community. Created to recruit residents from the Wai‘anae Coast who want to become teachers, KKLEA supports programs that produce qualified, high achieving educators, helping students get their education. We provide coaching support, networking opportunities, financial training, financial aid and scholarships and even school supplies.
We believe educators are the backbone of any institution of learning. That’s why it’s important to us that our future teachers are nurtured and supported throughout their learning process. KKLEA coaches are available day and night to answer questions and guide students while they study for their Associate in Science in Teaching (AST) degree. And when you reach that goal, KKLEA is right there to help place you in a Wai’anae area school. You get to live and work in the communities in which you grew up.
Before you register for a class or course schedule, contact us to become part of the ʻohana at KKLEA and join us as we work to build a stronger future for our keiki and our Wai‘anae community.
It’s not just an education - it’s an educational journey!
