CTE Alternative Certification | Unit Planning
Many of our lessons that we develop are related to each other, and these groups of lessons are know as "units". Knowing how to "unit plan" is critical for becoming an effective teacher because it requires an understanding of how individual lesson concepts and skills are interwoven with other lessons in order to support the larger overarching concepts of a particular subject. Being able to clearly develop and lay out a unit plan will help guide and focus your students on the big picture while completing daily lessons. The Education Program provides a simple unit plan template for you to use in order to facilitate your unit planning, especially in Practicum II: ED 393S - Student Teaching. Please feel free to expand the template to address any additional information required by your Cooperating Teacher or Education Course.
